ABOUT THE TRIP
SEIZING AN OPPORTUNITY
When we learned that Don's nephew, Josh, was getting married in Colorado on July 3rd, we decided to make a vacation of the trip. One item on our bucket list was to take the kids to Yellowstone National Park. So we planned a trip out west. Even though we would fly into Denver, this would still be a "road trip." The plan was to fly into Denver on Saturday June 29th and drive to Cheyenne and spend the night. On the morning of June 30th, we would get up early and drive to Thermopolis. In Thermopolis, we would visit the Wyoming Dinosaur Center and experience the Hot Springs there as well. From Thermopolis, we would drive to Cody and spend the night in a teepee. We would get another early start on the morning of July 1st and spend the day in Yellowstone Park and then drive to Idaho Falls to spend the night. July 2nd would be a long drive. The plan was to drive from Idaho Falls, stop and let the kids do some fun activity in Salt Lake City, and then get to the Canyonlands to go hiking before sunset. After seeing the sunset, we would drive to Grand Junction and spend the night. The morning of July 3rd, we would head for Rye for the Wedding. The morning after the wedding, we would head for Colorado Springs.
